I have run my own business more or less haphazardly with no specific plan; I try one thing one week (social media), then something else another (small advertising). In reading about digital marketing Bristol firms and how they operate, many state that a written plan is necessary prior to doing anything, and I started to question myself whether my efforts were being wasted since I was doing nothing of that sort. Do you have any specific plan of your own (with set objectives and budget)? Does the process of planning change the results? Was your plan implemented or did it just sit in a drawer somewhere gathering dust? It would be interesting to hear from anyone who got along fine without a plan for years.
