Is a bank run a real chance for the collapse of a bank? The answer is yes because there may be an immense liquidity pressure. When there is a running the bank, the customers may try to withdraw their funds because they fear that other people will also do that. A run on the bank deposits is difficult to manage if the speed of withdrawals exceeds the speed of increasing cash of the bank. Even though there is a liquidity pressure and it is a deposit run, it does not necessarily mean that the bank itself is bankrupt but the pressure may become a great problem when it lasts for a very long time.
