Why is it so hard to find honest information about luxury car battery replacement costs online? (7 อ่าน)

Hi everyone, I'm honestly getting frustrated with how difficult it is to get straight answers about something as simple as a car battery replacement. I have a 2017 Bentley Bentayga that I bought a few months ago and I think the battery is starting to fail because the engine cranks slower than usual and the auto start stop feature has stopped working completely. I tried calling the dealership here in Dubai to ask for a price quote and the service advisor wouldn't give me a straight number over the phone. He kept saying I needed to bring the car in for a diagnostic first and that the price depends on which battery my car needs. I understand that different cars have different batteries but surely they have a general price range they could give me. Then I tried calling a few independent garages and the prices they quoted me were all over the place. One guy said 800 dirhams, another said 1800, and a third said 3500 for what sounded like the exact same service. How am I supposed to make an informed decision when everyone is giving me completely different numbers? I started doing my own research online and I came across a website that seemed to have detailed information about battery replacement for luxury cars. The URL was https://dubaicarbattery.ae/rolls-royce-battery-replacement and even though my car is a Bentley not a Rolls, the information about battery types and registration requirements was very helpful. But I still can't figure out what a fair price should be. I understand that luxury car batteries are more expensive than regular car batteries because they have higher specs and need to be registered to the car's computer. But what is a reasonable markup? Should I expect to pay double what a regular battery costs or triple? Also is there any difference in quality between the battery the dealership sells and what an independent shop would install? I've heard that dealerships often just buy batteries from the same manufacturers that independent shops use and then put their own sticker on them and charge double or triple. Is that true or is there actually something special about the dealer batteries? I really don't want to get ripped off but I also don't want to damage my car by putting in a cheap battery that doesn't meet the manufacturer's specifications. Any advice from people who have been through this would be so appreciated. Thanks everyone.
