Heading to Dubai for a work trip next week, how do I sort my Audi gearbox before I leave? (7 อ่าน)

My Audi A4 has been fine for years, but last Sunday it did something that made my stomach drop. I was pulling out of a parking spot and the car hesitated, then lurched forward, and the gear indicator on the dash blinked for a second before settling down. I have a work trip coming up in about ten days, and my wife will be using the car while I am away to drive the kids to school and do the grocery runs. So I really cannot afford to have it sitting in a workshop for a week. A colleague told me about fast Audi transmission service in Sharjah , and said some places can check the problem and even finish smaller jobs in a day or two if they have the parts. I was surprised, because I always thought gearbox work meant leaving the car for ages. I also read a page about Audi gearbox repair, mostly to understand what the workshop might say to me, and it explained things like fluid change, clutch wear, and sensor faults in simple words. It made me feel a little less lost, but I still have a lot of questions. How long does a basic check usually take, and can they tell me the problem the same day? If the problem is small, like old fluid or a sensor, is it normally a one day job? What if they say the gearbox needs to come out, is it smart to still go on my trip and leave the car there, or should I wait until I am back so I can watch the process myself? I also worry about being away when decisions need to be made. Can a workshop send photos or messages so my wife can follow what is happening? And is it okay for her to drive the car in the meantime if the problem is only a small jerk now and then? The car has about 128,000 kilometers on it, and I honestly cannot remember when the gearbox oil was last changed. If you have done something similar, tell me how you planned the timing and what you wish you had done differently. Thanks a lot.
