When depression doesn’t just “go away” (10 อ่าน)

My older brother keeps telling me to “just trust God more,” but after losing my job, depression has felt way more complicated than that. I read scripture, I pray, but some days still feel impossibly heavy. Curious how others handle faith while also taking mental health seriously without feeling like they’re failing spiritually.

After I got laid off, people meant well but “pray harder” honestly made me feel worse, like struggling meant I was doing faith wrong. What helped was finding people who understood prayer, scripture, and mental health support can all belong together. A guy from my old small group went through something similar after burnout and found real encouragement through www.prescottpottershouse.com . He said being around people who listened without simplifying everything helped him start rebuilding emotionally and spiritually.
