Well, there are two different types of OTP messages that are explained below:-

1. HOTPs:- These refer to Hash-Based Message Authentication Code (HMAC)-based one-time passwords that are generated for certain events and changes on the basis of them. HOTPs are mostly OTPs that are sent by businesses to confirm the individual’s identity at the time of delivery.

2. TOTPs:- This refers to time-based, one-time passwords, which are time-based. In these, time plays a very important factor, and the entire password changes once the time step is completed. TOTPs are mostly used in times of making a payment to authenticate them and if the time exceeds, it expires.
